On Saturday July 26th, Gary, Indiana's own turned 86. In honor of his birthday he has written special notes
to his family, first starting with his wife Katherine and all of his childen. He started 11 days ago by saying:
I will be celebrating my 86th Birthday in Spain on Saturday the 26th of July. For the next
10 days, I would like to reflect on each member of my immediate family. I will candidly reflect individually
on each one of them for each of the next 10 days, sharing my private memories, fun moments that stand out
the most in my mind. Starting from the top with my wife Katherine.
For a woman who has won six Tony Awards, you would think life is as sweet as lemonade.
But for Audra McDonald it was more like lemons. In an interview with News Loop ,
McDonald opens up about what took her to such a dark place.
Keven Stonewall, 19, is passionate about creating a vaccine that will cure colon cancer. The teenager from Chicago's South Side interned at Rush University while he was still in high school, and the results of his experiments have earned him numerous awards.
The tension is rising at The Potter's House church in Dallas, Texas, and former church member
David Lee Richardson is at the center of it all.
His new book entitled "The Sunday Morning Stickup: What Your Pastor Doesn't Want You to
Know About Tithes" has caused quite a stir among Bishop T.D. Jakes and the rest of the leadership
in the church community.
After being publicly removed during a service because he was a 'disturbance', Richardson is speaking out
on what's REALLY going on.
Just outside the West Side home where an 11-year-old was fatally shot, hundreds gathered Sunday to pray,
cry, hug and say it can't happen again.
As the group grieved Shamiya Adams' death and comforted her family, they hoped aloud that Friday night's
homicide, which came during a 12-hour period when nearly two-dozen people were shot, might finally mark
a turning point in the city's streak of senseless killings.
What happened to a baby and a nurse 18 years ago is definite proof that "The Lord works in mysterious ways." A nurse named Sarah Gibbs was working at a Mississippi hospital in 1996 when she was called in to work at a doctor's office right next door. That very same day, a baby girl was left at the office's doorstep. No way prepared to be a mother, Sarah made the difficult decision to adopt her now-daughter, Janessa and the rest is history.

New Cosby Show Could Debut As Soon As Next Summer Bill Cosby could be returning to the network NBC
with a new comedy as soon as next summer. The series, described as a "classic, extended-family sitcom" with Cosby
as the patriarch, is currently in the writing stage, NBC executives said at Sunday's session of the summer TV critics' tour.
It was first announced in January.
Cosby, 77, has a long history with NBC, including his seminal "The Cosby Show," which became a smash hit 30 years
ago and helped rescue a network then at the bottom of the ratings. It ran for eight seasons.
The upcoming Cosby venture will use multi-cameras and be filmed in front of a studio audience, a format that
has lost ground at NBC, where single-camera comedies like "30 Rock," "The Office" and 'Parks and Recreation"
have thrived. Greenblatt said the network is trying to bring back this classic "multi" form, which goes back to "I Love Lucy"
and the earliest days of network television (and which is going strong at CBS with shows like "The Big Bang Theory" and "Mike & Molly.")
Can you believe it? BET Sunday's Best is on its seventh season and this time around is already
brewing with a little drama.
On episode two during some auditions in Atlanta, a particular part of the show went viral
when I contestant went OFF on Donnie McClurkin and Kim Burrell for "laughing"
during his auditon.
In a recent Christmas in July concert at Fallbrook Church, Kim Burrell decided to address the popular
"read" footage from the auditions. She articulately, comically & tactfully spoke the truth about the episode! God Bless this well spoken woman of God! Lets move on & let it go, when we don't know the full story!

It is clear that Columbus Short is hurting. After being removed from the hit tv show 'Scandal'
and recent abuse accusations from his wife, Short is having a rough 2014. He recently sat down
with Access Hollywood to explain his recent behavior.
If there was another word for 'blessed' it would be Michael Strahan.
Former New York Giant and Superbowl champion has not one, but three TV jobs –
(1) Live with Kelly and Michael, (2) Good Morning America and (3) Fox NFL Sunday.
This year, Strahan will be inducted into the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH on Saturday, August 2.
The Ocean of Soul, Strahan's alma mater Texas Southern University's band, will travel with him, and perform at the
ceremony with a little help from Kevin Hart. Hart provided $60,000 to help defray expenses.
Strahan says he's grateful for the support.
"Every time I see Kevin I always tell him how unbelievable and inspiring he is they way he hustles through his jobs and make it look effortless. I couldn't let him do it by himself," Strahan says. "With the money from Kevin and myself and the money from Dr. Rutledge at TSU we were able to send the Ocean of Soul to the Hall of Fame and also to fund a scholarship so that it continues it's not just a one-time thing and that's it. We're able to fund the education of some kids in the future and that's the most important thing that comes out of it."
What's done in the dark shall come to light. At least in Pop singer Katy Perry's case.
It is being reported that Gospel Rappers Flame andGrammy award winning Gospel rapper Lecrae
are accusing Perry of using the tune of their track "Joyful Noise" for her number one Billboard hit "Dark Horse."
According to Christian Today, the Christian rap single "Joyful Noise" was written in 2007, five years before Perry's song.
It featured Christian rappers Lecrae, Emanuel Lambert and Chike Ojukwu and was nominated for Best Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the Year award from the Gospel Music Association Dove Awards.
"Our World: Redeemed," Flame's album which featured "Joyful Noise" was nominated for a Grammy in 2008.
"Specifically, defendants' unauthorized reproduction, distribution, and public performance of
plaintiffs' musical composition constitute infringement of plaintiffs' exclusive rights in their copyright."
The rappers also intend to sue for damages. According to the rappers, Perry's use of the tune not only plagiarized their work,
it also impacted their Christian image.
Flame reportedly brought about the lawsuit after a blog post on SoundsJustLike.com compared "Joyful Noise" with "Dark Horse."
The artists declare in their lawsuit:
"The devoutly religious message of "Joyful Noise" has been irreparably tarnished by its association with the witchcraft, paganism, black magic, and Illuminati imagery evoked by the same music in Dark Horse."
Now some listener have responding saying that both artist are not original because the beat
is also similar the the group Art of Noise jazz hit 'Moments in Love'. With
so many artist sampling now, its hard to really tell whose original.
He may be known as the 'Rick Ross of Gospel' based on his looks but he
is far from the thug life.
Kevin S. Lemons, son of the late Wilbert and Ruth Lemons, was born into a great legacy of vocalists,
musicians and directors. His grandmother, Mrs. Annie Ruth Lemons, is the founder of the legendary
Atlanta Masonic Choir which was organized in 1942 and still exists today. Kevin's father, Wilbert, was
an accomplished director and his mother, Ruth, an accomplished lead vocalist.
Needless to say, Kevin's path would undoubtedly be one filled with music.
Check out what he had to say about growing up as a preacher's kid, starting out with only ten singers
and his journey though the music industry.

Yolanda Adams made headlines for delivering an awesome performance of "Jesus Is Love" at the 2014 BET Awards,
but that wasn't the only chatter that ignited on Sunday, June 29th. Many also wondered if Yolanda Adams
is engaged because of the rock prominently displayed on her left ring finger.
So is Yolanda Adams engaged to be married? Is she even dating anyone? Or does the ring only fit on this finger?
Only time will tell. The only evidence at the moment is the big ring. Take a look at the ring here.
On this day in history, millions of lives were changed. On this day
in 1964 the Civil Rights Act was a historic measure which outlawed discrimination based on
creed gender or national origin.
The landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibited racial segregation in schools, at work and
public facilities. It also help to end unfair voting registration.
The provisions of this civil rights act forbade discrimination on the basis of sex as well as race in
hiring, promoting, and firing. The word "sex" was added at the last moment. According to the West Encyclopedia of American Law, Representative Howard W. Smith (D-VA) added the word.
His critics argued that Smith, a conservative Southern opponent of federal civil rights, did so to kill
the entire bill. Smith, however, argued that he had amended the bill in keeping with his support of
Alice Paul and the National Women's Party with whom he had been working.
Martha W. Griffiths (D-MI) led the effort to keep the word "sex" in the bill. In the final legislation,
Section 703 (a) made it unlawful for an employer to "fail or refuse to hire or to discharge any individual,
or otherwise to discriminate against any individual with respect to his compensation, terms,
conditions or privileges or employment, because of such
individual's race, color, religion, sex, or national origin."
The final bill also allowed sex to be a consideration when sex is a bona fide occupational
qualification for the job. Title VII of the act created the
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to implement the law.
However prior to ministry he had roots in music and entertainment world as comedian Redd Foxx's manager
and was also affiliated with The Gap Band. The idea of cutting a gospel version of "Outstanding" has been on
Patrick's mind for a while.
I wanted a song to express how wonderful God is and how outstanding He is.
I wanted to draw people who were outside of church and it's a song to bring the
world to God. I talked to Charlie at first about doing it with me but we never could
get our schedules to match. The words came to me six years ago. Ronnie Wilson was
preaching at my church one Sunday and I told him I wanted to remake the song and
he told me I should do it."
The song will anchor Pastor Patrick's forthcoming CD "Dangerous Crossings"
(Crossover Records/Blacksmoke) that will release in the fall. It's his first release since 2008's Top Ten CD
"Crossover" that boasted the radio hit "I Am A Witness" (featuring Rhonda McLemore).
